About Me

I have small town syndrome...you know, where you grow up in a tiny town and feel so much different from everyone else. Not sure if that's really a thing but I had to get out. I love to explore, love to learn, love to challenge, love to speak out, and some would say I'm a bit quirky. When it was time for college I decided to "get away to the big city" of Raleigh, NC...but my college experience was much different from most. I worked hard, had a full time job, and interned. No crazy party time, no self-exploration mumbo jumbo...just work work work.   It was tough and quite honestly it sucked...and I couldn't wait to get out of school so that I could actually have time for life.

During my last year of school I met my now husband. He was a quick witted, super handsome and an amazingly sweet guy...from New Zealand! What more could you ask for? We had a crazy start to our relationship and fell in love faster than I we thought was possible...but 2 years later he asked me to marry him on top of a mountain in New Zealand and I said yes. A year and a half later we had a beautiful wedding in the mountains of NC with all of our friends and family.  Pretty much the most chaotic, crazy, yet most perfect day of my life.

I have a degree fashion marketing which I use on occasion...but I actually ended up going in to the nonprofit sector, working at an international hunger relief organization. I spend a lot of my free time volunteering and then spend the rest of it hanging out with my husband, entertaining the pets (a cat, Batman, and dog, Magnus) and trying to learn new things. I have an amazing job, and an amazing husband...but quite honestly, I have no idea what I want in life. I started this blog as a travel diary but decided that maybe if I document my discoveries in all things, it will help me figure out what I actually want out of life.  And hopefully, I'll help someone else figure it out too...or figure something out...either way is purposeful...

So these are my thoughts on my travels, love, food, and my life.  I hope you enjoy!
